Introducing the Cap Cracker Series of Kailh's BOX switches.

This range of BOX switches have all been manufactured before August 2018. Thanks to their enlarged stem, measuring 1.32mm on the x axis, batches prior to this date have the potential to damage your stems.

We can't stress the point that these switches may damage your keycaps. Most of the reported issues are on GMK and MaxKey keysets. So we advise you don't use these keysets on the cap cracker series whatsoever.

By buying these switches you are acknowledging that you are risking your keycaps and that Daily Clack assumes no responsibility for any damage incurred.

So, why would you want to buy these switches then?

Well, they're cheap and are a great way to test if BOX switches are for you. You can see if you like the click bar styled switches. Or you can experience the high actuation point of BOX tactiles.

Cheap keycaps aren't that bad, as most reports are likely due to undersized keycap stems plus oversized switch stems. This underestimating sizes on keycaps are generally found on GMK and MaxKeys keysets.

If you're using BOX switches or don't intend to change away from box switches, then you won't have any issues with these. Loose keycaps are mainly noticeable when switching back to normal + stems.

Whatever your reasoning for wanting cheap BOX switches you have to understand that there are risks involved with these switches, so don't put your brand new expensive keycaps on them if you haven't already.
